SIAX / Calculate
What does switching really cost?
Enter what you pay today and what an alternative would cost to run, support and introduce. The calculator shows cost per year, one-off costs, net saving, payback time and how uncertain the result is. No account, no contact details.
Open source rarely means zero cost: hosting, operations, security, support, migration and your own time always cost something.

Method, formulas and assumptions
The calculator is a pure, versioned calculation module with no hidden values. It never fills in vendor prices for you; suggestions stay empty until you enter an amount with its basis.
- Recurring cost per year = amount × 12 (monthly) or × 1 (annual), × users for per-user pricing, × hourly cost for hours, or percent × transaction volume.
- Price changes compound per year. One-off costs are never escalated.
- Parallel run = current recurring cost × months / 12, spread over the years it falls in.
- Net saving = current cost − (alternative recurring cost + one-off costs + parallel run).
- A percentage is only shown when the current cost is above zero.
- Payback is simulated month by month and only shown when the cumulative cash flow actually reaches zero (searched up to 30 years).
Range per basis (low / high)

| Verified list price | −0 % | +5 % |
| Your own figure | −10 % | +10 % |
| Estimate | −25 % | +50 % |
| Uncertain | −50 % | +100 % |
